Maxell has developed an advanced 4mm data cartridge for high capacity data storage that is compatible with DDS-2 drive systems employing MRS. The fine metal particles used in 4mm tape are the key to high density data recording which allows for several gigabytes on a single cartridge. Maxell has designed and patented a unique ceramic-coated metal particle which acts as a protective armor to counteract heat, humidity and oxidation. The result is tape durable enough to withstand at least 2000 passes with an archival life of up to 30 years. |
